6 Tips for Discovering Your Personal Kitchen
Understanding your personal style is one of the toughest parts of remodeling the kitchen. Many of our clients end up collecting dozens, or hundreds, of images, but they’re not quite sure where to go from there. So that’s what we’re going to focus on today. We’re going to show you how to narrow down your kitchen ideas image gallery so you can more effectively show us what you love.
Collect Lots of Images
We love it when you collect tons of images, but you don’t necessarily need to show us every single one of them. Your massive collection can get a bit confusing if you show us everything from the start. But it is a major boon to your creativity, because each one of those images had some aspect that you loved when you saved it. So, save away!
Don’t Edit as You Go
You’re going to want to start marking on the pictures and deleting this one to save that one. Sound familiar already? Stop. Keep all of them so you can narrow down your style later. You’ll start organizing in the next step. We’re still not up to editing yet!
Organize the Images
You probably won’t be able to organize every image at this point because it’s very likely that they’re a mess with little rhyme or reason. But that’s okay. Take your time and organize them as well as you can.
Categorize
One of the easiest ways to organize your kitchen design ideas is to see what they have in common. What do you like the most? Dark wood floors, natural tile flooring, kitchen island ideas, coffered ceilings, and custom range hoods may give you a few good starting places.
Notice Commonalities
You may end up with 7 photos of the perfect kitchen island or 9 images with gorgeous hardwood floors. Look at the images as a whole and see if there are other aspects that you love just as much.
Choose Your Favorites
Collecting tons of images, creating categories, and looking for commonalities will ultimately bring you to this point. You’re now ready to flip through and choose your favorite images. You should be able to narrow it down to 2 or three in each category. This will give us a much better idea of what you want from your kitchen.
